Lydia Ann Steel(e)
I am avidly searching for any information about my third great
grandmother Lydia Ann Steel(e). She was born in 1809 to Stephen
and Elizabeth Steele(e). The only sibling that I know of is Stephen
Steele born November 26, 1814 at Rossway, Nova Scotia.
On November 25, 1830 Lydia
married
Isaac Parks Winchester at Trinity Church in Digby, Nova Scotia. The
marriage record states that she was from "Digby Neck". She and Isaac had
four children
Mary Elizabeth Winchester, Elkanah Thomas Winchester,Stephen Wesley
Winchester
Mary Lydia Ann Winchester.
Lydia Ann Steele died on August 20, 1840 and is
buried at Goat Island Baptist Church, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.
Her husband Isaac Parks died on June 11, 1844
and his widow (Elizabeth - last name unknown) petitioned the courts for
guardianship of the minor children. However Isaac's will written before
his second marriage stated that his brother Christopher was to have
guardianship and the courts granted it to him. This is all the
information I have on any of the Winchester children except for Mary
Elizabeth. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
