One of the most exciting aspects
of genealogy research is to find copies of documents left behind by
one's ancestors. Here is the will and probate documentation regarding
one of my favorite ancestors Isaac Parks Winchester.
When Isaac Parks died on June 11,
1844 his widow and second wife (Elizabeth - last name unknown)
petitioned the courts for guardianship of the minor children. However
Isaac's will written before his second marriage stated that his brother
Christopher was to have guardianship and the courts granted it to him.
This turned into a legal battle between Christopher Winchester and
Elizabeth Winchester. Here are the documents that were filed with the
Probate Court of Nova Scotia.
